Fans and Impellers

SINDFAN (Tianjin Sind Technology Co., Ltd.) is a fan and impeller manufacturer based in Tianjin, China. Our range covers mining contra-rotating auxiliary fans, tunnel jet fans, fire smoke exhaust fans, industrial axial / centrifugal / mixed-flow fans and custom impellers. Impeller diameters run from Ø250mm to Ø3150mm; blade materials include cast aluminium (LM6 / A356), GRP fibreglass, nylon 66 and anti-static GRN-ATI, covering duty from -40°C to +400°C.

We supply complete fans as well as impellers on their own (with performance curves), and we build to drawing or sample. Every impeller is dynamically balanced to ISO 1940-1, grade G6.3 as standard and G4.0 on request. Performance is tested to AMCA 210-07 / ISO 5801.

Supply formComplete fan / impeller only (with curve) / built to drawing

Figures above are our standard ranges; the actual supply is per the agreed technical specification. Impeller performance curves describe the bare impeller under standard inlet conditions. Once installed, performance is affected by casing clearance, tip clearance, inlet straightening and guide vanes; tested as a complete fan to GB/T 1236 / AMCA 210 the result typically differs by 2-5%. Site measurement governs and no complete-fan performance warranty is implied.

Typical applications

  • Mine development and district ventilation
  • Road and rail tunnel ventilation
  • Building smoke exhaust and make-up air
  • Industrial plant ventilation (petrochemical, metallurgy, chemical, power)
  • Equipment cooling (motors, transformers, compressors, cooling towers)
  • Data centre and machine room air handling
  • Ship engine room ventilation
  • Livestock and poultry house climate control

Selection notes

  • Start from air volume (m³/h or m³/s) and pressure - and always state whether the pressure is total pressure or static pressure. The two differ by the velocity pressure ½ρv² and selecting on the wrong basis changes the outcome.
  • Then confirm the application, medium temperature and whether explosion-proof or corrosion-resistant construction is required, and pick the blade material accordingly.
  • Finally confirm the drive (direct or belt), speed and motor power margin, and leave the correct tip clearance.
  • If certification is involved (mining MA, explosion-proof, classification society, CCCF), tell us up front and we will supply to the project requirement.

FAQ

What is the difference between total pressure and static pressure?

Total pressure = static pressure + velocity pressure, where velocity pressure = ½ρv² (ρ is air density, v is outlet velocity). Fan catalogues normally quote total pressure, while system designers calculate resistance as static pressure. Please state which basis you are using so we select on the same basis.

Can I buy the impeller on its own?

Yes. We supply impellers separately with performance curves. Once installed, overall fan performance is affected by casing clearance, tip clearance, inlet straightening and guide vanes; tested as a complete fan to GB/T 1236 / AMCA 210 the result typically differs by 2-5%, and site measurement governs.

What is the usual lead time?

Standard models 15-30 days; large custom impellers 30-45 days. Final timing is as per contract.
