The performance and life of a fan impeller come down to a few key processes: casting or welding, heat treatment, dynamic balancing and inspection. Here is an overview of our production and testing equipment.

Main production equipment

  • Aluminium melting furnace - for casting A356 / LM6 impellers, with traceable material and batch
  • Annealing furnace - post-weld stress relief and casting heat treatment to reduce distortion and cracking
  • Dynamic balancing machine - every impeller balanced to ISO 1940-1 G6.3, or G4.0 for high-speed and precision duty
  • Press and welding jigs - steel impellers press-formed and welded on both sides, then jigged back to profile
  • Turning and assembly stations - hub machining, bore and keyway fitting, run-out checked after assembly

Testing capability

  • Dynamic balancing: ISO 1940-1, record issued per impeller
  • Performance testing: AMCA 210-07 / ISO 5801, curves and test data available
  • Casting inspection: X-ray and material certificates on request
  • Dimensional inspection: bore tolerance, keyway, tip clearance checked to drawing

Other machining we do

Beyond complete fans and impellers we machine fan components and non-standard parts to drawing: hubs, flanges, inlet collectors, guards, duct connections. Send a sample or drawing for a quotation.

FAQ

Are the blades safe at speed?

Blades are designed against centrifugal load and fatigue cycles, every impeller is balanced before dispatch and tip clearance is controlled. Stay within the rated speed and keep the tip clearance and the unit is safe in service.

What balancing grade can you achieve?

ISO 1940-1 G6.3 as standard, G4.0 for high-speed or precision duty - specify on the order.

Can you supply impellers only?

Yes. We supply both complete fans and impellers on their own with performance curves.
