Cast Aluminium Axial Fans and Impellers

Our cast aluminium (LM6 / A356) axial fans are light, strong and heat resistant, which makes them the usual choice for industrial axial fans and smoke exhaust duty. Blades are cast as a unit and can be crack-detected part by part, suited to continuous running and elevated temperatures.

The range covers Ø250mm to Ø3150mm across the ADF, ADT, APD, ARD, ABE, ADB and CAS series. Available as complete fans or as impellers supplied separately with performance curves.

Figures above are our standard ranges; the actual supply is per the agreed technical specification. Impeller performance curves describe the bare impeller under standard inlet conditions. Once installed, performance is affected by casing clearance, tip clearance, inlet straightening and guide vanes; tested as a complete fan to GB/T 1236 / AMCA 210 the result typically differs by 2-5%. Site measurement governs and no complete-fan performance warranty is implied.

Selection notes

  • Aluminium blades must not rub against a steel casing at speed - fit a wear ring for high-temperature or high-speed duty to protect the blade tips.
  • Aluminium impellers wear in dusty or corrosive service; consider a wear-resistant treatment or steel blades for abrasive dust.
  • Fan efficiency is not set by the impeller alone: inlet cone, collector and tip clearance all matter and should be designed together.
  • Tell us early if the project needs smoke exhaust or explosion-proof certification, including the temperature/time curve required.

FAQ

Aluminium or steel impeller?

Aluminium is lighter, heat resistant and easy to balance; steel is more wear resistant, impact tolerant and cheaper. Use aluminium for clean ambient duty and steel for abrasive or wet/corrosive duty.

Are aluminium blades safe?

Yes in normal service. Blades are designed against centrifugal load and fatigue cycles and each impeller is balanced before dispatch. Stay within the rated speed and keep the tip clearance and the unit is safe.

Can you supply material certificates?

Yes. Material reports are available for castings, and X-ray inspection can be arranged at extra cost.
